From Research to Action

Welcome to the digital version of the project:






a project with an interdisciplinary approach to climate adaptation by exploring climate science, legislation, social conditions, art and local community-driven action. Developed by me (Marie Stougaard Østertorn) as a part of my final project in the Master of Climate Adaptation program at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU).

Set in the heart of Ilulissat, the project is rooted in fieldwork at ILLU Science & Art Center. Using participatory action research and a mixed method approach, the project reflects on how to produce knowledge and action in the light of Greenland’s new national research strategy. Through this project, I wish to contribute with perspectives on the everyday implications of climate change and an understanding of current realities and challenges of climate adaptation efforts. Efforts made by the Greenlandic government, the local municipality as well as individual efforts and experiences.
